About Taşkın Uğurlu

Taşkın Uğurlu

Taşkın Uğurlu is a founder and systems architect working across software and organizations. He combines research discipline with technical experience to build systems that remain understandable, manageable and sustainable.

Taşkın Uğurlu builds systems across software, business, and organizational layers.
His work focuses on maintaining control as systems grow and become more complex.

Across different projects, he encountered a recurring pattern:

The system was running, the team was working, but progress was slowing down.
Decisions repeated, problems didn’t fully resolve, and over time, control was lost.

He saw this pattern repeat across multiple projects.
Over time, it became clear that the issue was rarely complexity itself, but a lack of clear definition.

When problems are not properly defined, even good solutions start creating new problems.

This led to a clear focus:
Define the problem correctly, identify the root cause, and build a system based on that foundation.
Most importantly, ensure that the system does not lose control as it scales.

Approach

His approach is based on three core steps:

  • Clarifying the problem (defining scope and boundaries)

  • Isolating the root cause (targeting the real issue instead of symptoms)

  • Building the system (aligning people, processes, and technology)

The goal is not only to make the system work,
but to ensure it is understandable, manageable, and sustainable.

Technical and Organizational Focus

On the technical side, he works on distributed systems, scalable architectures, and operability.

Observability and reliability are not treated as add-ons,
but as essential components that must be considered from the beginning.

On the business and organizational side, he focuses on:

  • decision-making mechanisms

  • responsibility distribution

  • team execution rhythm

as integral parts of the system.

Because a system is not only technical;
it must also be organizationally consistent.

Way of Thinking

His analytical approach is rooted in a structured way of thinking developed during his academic work.
This background shaped how he breaks down problems, understands them, and rebuilds them into working systems.

Today, the same approach is applied across both technical systems and organizational structures.

A Common Pattern from Experience

Across different projects, a similar cycle repeated:

  • Systems scaled, but control was lost

  • Decisions started repeating

  • Teams were active, but progress slowed down

At BrandSEM, a system evolved from a structure where control was becoming difficult into an infrastructure capable of analyzing over 10,000 ads per day with 99.8% availability.

At HemenBaşvur, a platform with multiple bank integrations was built and later transferred in 2025.

In all these cases, the core challenge was the same:
Not scaling the system, but maintaining control as it scaled.

A system may work;
but if it loses control under scale, it is not truly working.

Today

He is currently working on a new digital product in a specific problem domain.

This work is a direct continuation of the experience gained from previous ventures.

The goal is not to reduce complexity,
but to make it understandable and controllable,
and to turn stable, long-lasting systems into products.

Summary

Taşkın Uğurlu is a system builder who works across software and organizational layers,
clarifies complex problems,
identifies root causes,
and builds systems that remain stable as they scale.
